Johanna’s commitment to service began early. Born into the church, she grew up in a family deeply involved in ministry. In 1994, her family helped plant Bayside Church, laying the foundation for a thriving community of faith. By 1998, Johanna had stepped into a hands-on role, setting up technical equipment each week for the mobile church that met at a local high school. These early years sparked her interest in church technology, operations, and behind-the-scenes service.
In 2007, Johanna joined her husband at Hillcrest Church, where she has faithfully attended and served ever since. Over the years, she has become an essential part of Hillcrest’s ministry infrastructure. Johanna manages the Hillcrest website, livestream production, Sunday morning visuals, social media presence, and provides day-to-day IT support. Her creativity, technical skill, and steady leadership help ensure that services run smoothly and that the church can effectively reach both in-person and online communities.
Johanna is a dedicated mother of four Deaf children and a passionate advocate for accessibility, inclusion, and community support. Her advocacy is rooted in lived experience, strengthened by a strong background in non-profit work and public education for students with disabilities. As a military spouse, Johanna brings resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to service into every area of her life, supporting both her family and the communities she serves.
Driven by faith, family, and a heart for serving others, Johanna Wonderly continues to pour her time and talent into building accessible, welcoming spaces both in the church and throughout the broader community.
