Jesus’ work is finished on earth, and he will ascend into heaven taking his place at the right hand of God, as exalted Lord. He has appeared to his disciples on several occasions to restore them from their dismal failure of faith. The time is coming when Jesus will depart from them and send the Holy Spirit, which marks the beginning of the church age.
