Melissa Olsen
Children's Church CoordinatorA Simpson University graduate with a Liberal Studies degree and Preliminary Teaching Credential, she has a passion for engaging children in learning, especially with truth that impacts the course of their lives. Melissa is a teacher who has taught various ages, from preschool-6th, and just about every subject. At Hillcrest she has also lead small groups, helped with church ambiance, assisted the media team, organized family events, and served as Missions Coordinator. In the community, she serves as La Leche League Leader, helps on the Placer County Breastfeeding Coalition, works at a local preschool, raises her daughter alongside her husband, and works to bring community together for the benefit of all. Hillcrest has been her church community since a young age, and it is her joy to serve Christ here and welcome all into the community of Christ.

Bruce Guckelberg, Ph.D.
PastorHillcrest Church welcomes Bruce Guckelberg as their new pastor. In June of 2019 Bruce and his wife Carol assumed the pastorate of Hillcrest Church as interim pastor. Bruce is a 33 year veteran of ministry in Chicago, Sacramento, San Jose, Upstate New York, and now in Roseville. Bruce also teaches at the Institute in Carmichael and has authored five books. His most recent is a commentary on Philippians titled: “Philippians: Ridiculous Joy.” He has also traveled in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua training pastors and their key leaders. Bruce has a passion for preaching God’s word and building the next generation of leaders. His teaching is practical and relevant to everyday life. The best thing to do is come and check it out.
